Having missed Expo 86 I am very excited to be able to partake in all the fun and events that will be happening in and around Vancouver during the 2010 Olympics. I’m even planning to do a day trip up to Whistler just to be a part of the energy and excitement that will be up there.
Thanks to a couple of great websites (www.miss604.com 04 and www.citycaucus.ca) I’ve been able to scout some of the best and FREE events that will be happening around the city.
Here are my top three pics
1. LiveCity Yaletown – I think this is going to be the hot spot downtown for live events. Running from 11am to 11pm Feb 13th to Feb 28th. To find out the full listing of scheduled performances click here
2. Casa Italia – We all know how much I love good food….. Well I am sure that Casa Italia will not disappoint. Located at the Roundhouse Community Centre in Yaletown it will be open daily to the public between Feb 6 – 28th from noon until 6pm daily.
3. Heineken House (Holland) – the must Go See pavilion of the 2010 Games. Located near the Richmond O-Zone it is expected this “party” palace will serve in excess of 90,000 people. Open from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m daily they will serve up equal portions of Heineken and performances by Dutch Artists. A must see!
So now you know some of the places I’ll be. Where will you be?

I’ll probably be attending most of the LiveCity Events. The Casa Italia is also of interest to me. I’m lucky as I live downtown and getting to most of these events will just require me to walk a few blocks!

Bussing it of course!

I’m keen to see the Swiss House on Granville Island. Not only does it look fun and exciting, but it’s not downtown, which should make it easier for us non-downtown residents to access. Great to see your contest!

I’ll be heading out to all the awesome concerts at David Lam Park — And, I’ll probably walk (since I live right up the road)… But there’s plenty of cool events that I’ll take the skytrain to, as well! Thanks for a great contest!
I’ve got tickets to some men’s hockey games and will be taking the SkyTrain. Can’t wait!

I plan on seeing the Olympic Opening Ceremony dress rehearsals and I plan to take the Canada Line there!
I can’t wait to see the Skeleton events live! Have always thought these athletes are insane to throw themselves head first down a course like that but at the same time I am incredibly intrigued! Every Winter Olympics I’m glued to the television during this event, imagine what I’d be like when I see it in person
It will be quite the trek if to the Whistler Sliding Centre for this. I’d start with a bus in Richmond to catch the Olympic Line to Waterfront, then catch the Seabus to Lonsdale Quay. Then take the Olympic bus network up to Whistler. Long trip but worth it!
For something closer to home, I’ll be frequenting the O zone in Richmond as well as the Heineken Holland House!
Cheers

Looking forward to the ski jumps and figure skating while perched on the edge of my seat in my living room or at the local pub! A bus pass would sure come in handy to get me home from the pub or take me to the o-zone or downtown for some street action.
so excited. I just received the Transit Pass that I am giving away on my blog contest. only 36 hours left to enter http://bit.ly/bpUGdn

We will be taking the family to see the Canadian pavilions, to visit the sights in downtown Vancouver and will go with friends to the Dutch pavilion in Richmond. We will be taking transit for all of our outings, it is the best, most economical way to get there, we don’t have to deal with traffic or parking, and taking transit is fun!

I am jacked for the Games! I plan on spending a fair bit of time at LiveCity Yaletown, want to get to the Ozone as well…Heineken House of course! I am hoping to take the various Skytrains to get around. Can’t imagine driving from the burbs will be much fun.
Too all those not willing to make their way down to the events because of traffic/transit congestion…really? There is a reason why so many want to get there bogging down transit!
